Doug began his career working with children in daycares during high school and college.  During his undergrad, Doug ran the University of St. Thomas Wellness Center.  After college he taught English as a Second Language at the Guadalupe Area Project on the West Side of St. Paul.  He studied Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas where he received his Masters after completing his practicum at Jewish and Family and Childrens Services in Minnetonka.  He began his first counseling position at Family and Children Services in downtown Minneapolis on their GLBT Unit.  He then moved to the Blake School where he was a Middle School Counselor and Wellness Teacher.  Doug has also done in-home therapy with Touchstone Mental Health.  After Touchstone, Doug was a therapist at the Kenwood Therapy Center, the largest Narrative Therapy Center in the United States where he studied under psychologist Walter Bera and received his Narrative Therapy Certificate in 2015.  He is currently a therapist at Fraser Services in Woodbury (Monday - Friday) and Cabot Psychological Services in Edina (Saturday - currently not accepting new clients).

When not working, Doug loves traveling with his partner and son, playing with his two dogs, spending time with family and friends, gardening, and doing mixed media and glass art.
